Debt/Deficit Charts

These charts are the results of research done to determine where the onus of the debt and/or deficit belongs, Democrats or Republicans. The source of the information is the Statistical Abstracts published by the Commerce Department. There is a curious difference between the figures which may be explained by the adjustments to account for the value of dollars due to inflation.

It is obvious that using the deficit budgeting system initiated by Franklin Roosevelt in 1933 has caused the buildup of the debt. It was $19.5-billion in 1932, and is now something over $7.29-trillion ... that shows.

Now, when a politician boasts about "lowering the deficit", he is admitting the debt will be going up. The best thing they can do is reduce spending on a large scale.
